With nearly two decades of experience in politics and 15 years in health care and marketing, Engel Burns has become a highly successful Washington lobbyist. In his position at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, a company that specializes in central nervous system disorders and respiratory diseases, Engel Burns helps promote legislative initiatives that advance the company’s work. Engel Burns’ success as a lobbyist can be attributed to his energetic personality, his charisma, and dedication to doing what is right for his community.
Besides his work with Sunovion, Engel D. Burns is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc.’s Council of Corporate Advisors. Engel Burns has also provided a significant amount of community service as a local religious leader. Since 1998, Engel Burns has led the youth Ministry at the Rising Sun First Baptist Church where he also organized mentoring, tutoring, and other programs for children. Engel Burns has demonstrated his support for his community in many other ways: by obtaining funding for an after-school program, being a mentor to minority honor students at University of Maryland, and organizing an education program for seniors to ease the process of Medicare enrollment.
